The auction is in aid of MacMillian Cancer Support, and there are something like 500 lots on sale. From hair cuts to holidays, and pigs to Portakabins! Start bidding in advance here.

There is also a previously unreleased DUFI screen print up for grabs. You can bid for it here. It is a framed and signed limited edition (limited to six prints).

A place that's built on noise and needs

Yesterday Fin and I had a great road trip over the Lecht to Banchory. Cracking weather to be driving through the hills! We were in Banchory for an interview for a potential new project ... hopefully we can share more about that later!

We visited the Woodend Barn, a great venue that has an amazing amount of buzz about it. Their current installation in the gallery is the impressive Unravel, an interactive sound installation by FOUND & Aidan Moffat. On the way out of Woodend Barn I picked up a free copy of Art Mag, and as I was leafing through it stumbled across one of our screen prints which we did not know was featured! Happy New Year to everyone out there!

We just got back to work yesterday and are easing ourselves back into things slowly. Catching up on emails and catching up on whats happening in the creative industries and art world...

Prior to Christmas we were invited by IG:LU to take part in their joint show. Our installation "But take comfort in that I die at peace with the world and myself - not afraid" is a result of Al and I chucking a few ideas about. While thinking about winter themes came across some images of Scott in Antarctica. We then discovered that it was 100 years ago that the expedition failed so we have played with the idea of glorious failure (compared to 2012 being the year of huge sporting success for the UK) and misplaced patriotism. We made a crest-like wall piece that included icons of the winter and a motto together with two screen-prints. A metallic black one with Scott's hut and a graphic distortion of the word 'Aurora' and a metallic white one with 'Australis' (together making The Southern Lights)

Attached is a couple of quick pics taken on the iPhone. Hopefully get a proper shot done soon! - FIN

...I dreamt you dreamt that I was a bird.

Just to prove that things are never the same for us...last week was spent in the Highland Print Studio working on screen printing. A couple of which were for the joint Christmas show at IG:LU (more about them another day...) and the others being a double edition of 100 prints for top Scottish artiste Rachel Sermanni.

It was a lot of fun being able to shut out the office and focus on something hands-on. We also had some practical issues regarding printing pearlescent colours on the papers we were using. We really had to pick the brains of the studio gurus John McNaught and Brian MacBeath to find the solutions.

We can't believe it has been about 18 months since we have been in there working. We ARE going to change that next year...promise. - FIN

So here you go - our first EVER exhibited screenprints and we are really quite excited by this...a new direction for DUFI and something we have been wanting to do for a long time! A few more shots below are to show the detail of emboss and the print itself to give you more of a flavour of the work.

We have also posted all the images on their own as well as you can now buy these ONLINE! Have to be quick though these are all selling pretty quickly and as editions are only short runs.

Picture this now crystal clear

Last Friday evening our exhibition, Teenage Kicks & Other Works, opened at Timespan. The exhibition includes several new pieces of work as well as our installation Teenage Kicks.

As part of the exhibition we created a limited edition series of six screenprints on Fabriano and Arches BFK papers that have been embossed with a 12" vinyl LP. All prints are based on lyrics from a song on each of five albums that influenced us in our teenage years.
