March 9th from 6-10pm, Please join eve-N-odd gallery in welcoming a one man show, "Rusty Epiphanies" by
John Donald Carlucci  The show will be up through March 31st.  Admission is free.  Refreshments at the opening.

Show Statement
“Rusty Epiphanies: Darke Ruminations” exhibition is a twisted examination of beauty, religion, childhood, technology, and the distorted paths that connect all four of these forces.

Bio
John Donald Carlucci is mainly an assemblage artist whose work combines a mixture of religion, childhood, and rust. His work has been purchased over the years for private collections, but the “Rusty Epiphanies” show is his first solo public exhibition.
JDC spent years developing the personal iconography and mythology present in his strange works.  Loath to explain what a piece “means”, he prefers that the viewer take away their own interpretation and enjoy their own revelations.
JDC has edited and published numerous pulp magazines, short stories, and non-fiction.  He is an accomplished illustrator, sculptor and digital artist.

Artist Statement
The greatest influence on my work has been Michael DeMeng.  His blending of rust, color, and relics has been an inspiration and revelation when I was just starting out.
Much of my art skill has been self-taught, but I have attended numerous art courses – including those at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
I have sold many pieces over the years through private sales and online, but my interest in physical exhibition has grown thanks to the amazing art scene in Saint Petersburg.
I love rusty and discarded things.  I enjoy staring at a lost object and seeing the new life that comes when you combine it with another lost thing. The trash that someone disposed of is now a treasured object for another to cherish.
I think rust is one of the most beautiful forms of decay.  It changes an ordinary tin can into a multi-textured and colorful art form.
