.

I got my head checked, by a jumbo jet.

Ok, we admit it, we have a problem. DUFI stencils are not getting any smaller. We have just completed our biggest DUFI to date - a 14.3x2.1M wall at Malliag High School.

The group we were working with were not the noisiest bunch we have worked with, but they had some great ideas, worked like weevils and created a stencil to be proud of.

Couldn't get no cooperation if I tried

Well, another DUFI has been born. We recently completed workshops with a group of future stencil artists in Brora. The project was sponsored by the Brora Cooperative and the 2x2M paneled stencil will be fixed to the side wall of the building.

Thanks to the COOP for being such great sponsors – and for cooperating (badum-ching!) – the blog title is the only song lyric I could find with the word cooperation. Yea I know the song is ‘I can’t get no satisfaction’, but thanks to Sesame Street we have the alternative lyrics – go on, YouTube it, you know you want to.

Art Sanctuary writes for SLEnquirer

A New Look …

Do you know that there are more than 500 galleries in Second Life?
In Second Life art and culture flourish more then ever before. Each day there are new exhibitions opening, new cultural events organized, and it is difficult for you to decide which galleries or events to visit. SLEnquirer asked Art Sanctuary, Raspirit Heron and WieBenIk Beaumont, to write a weekly art and culture page to help you in your selection. We are very proud to start this week with this page.
We don't want to give a list of all events happening next weekend, in a subjective way we select only the ones we hope will give you a nice time by visiting the artists or the events.
The Art Sanctuary wants to promote art which uses Second Life opportunities as much as possible and we will focus on events which combine different art expressions, such as music, story, poems, paintings, building.
Raspirit and I are very subjective in our selections, it is not an evaluation of the artist or event.
Each week we will have three important topics;
We will report on a past event (a pity you weren’t there - you missed it!)
Events happening next weekend
Featured article or interview, focus on an important person, event, SL site

Next weekend events

The SLEnquirer and the Art Sanctuary want to publish an overview of the next weekend events, excluding repeating events. It is not an ordinary event calendar! We only include the events the newspaper reader wants to experience, because it’s new, it’s appealing and the reader looks for quality time. If you organize an art or cultural event then please send an IM to Raspirit Heron or WieBenIk Beaumont or a mail to SLArtSanctuary@hotmail.com. Please include in your message the date and time (we only use SL time!) and the type of event. Please add also an appealing short description (maximal 50 words), convincing the reader. You can also add a small picture or logo (jpeg, maximal 250 on 250). We expect your event description not later than on Monday evening. We prepare the publishing on Tuesday morning.
